We cast off from Lyons' dock at 0820 having breakfast while underway. Rain was forecast for the day, but it was dry all morning with some sunshine poking through after 1100. At 1015 we were in lock 26. The day was quite windy blowing from the south. There was lots of debris at the south end of 26 that had blown out into the channel. We slowed to to pick our way through floating logs. At 1120 we were in lock 25.

Between lock 25 and the turnoff to the Cayuga-Seneca canal, we saw two more ospreys. I believe this was a different pair from the ones near lock 26. I wonder if it's another generation setting up housekeeping near this part of the canal. They put on quite a show for us.

We were in lock 25 at 1125, in CS-1 at 1235.

The day was very windy. After locking through Cayuga-Seneca lock 1 we turned west up the Seneca River towards Seneca Falls. In the north end of the Cayuga Lake, we started having engine problems. The engine speed would drop from 2300 r.p.m. to about 2000 r.p.m., then pick back up. I was afraid it would die in a bad situation - strong winds near a lee shore. I had Greg get the anchor ready, but we made it to Seneca Falls alright. I then called Libby, and she and Peter showed up a bit later. After a few false starts, they found the source of the problem - a fuel clog in the inlet to the filter.

We were planning to stop early this day anyway. Our plans were to spend some time at the Women's Rights Musuem not far from the docks. However, between waiting for the repairs and dodging thunderstorms, we didn't get to the museum for the second year.

We had a torrential downpour while at the dock in Seneca Falls. Some other boaters reported we had ~2" of rain in about an hour.

That night we ate at Antonina's Italian restaurant which was recommended by Peter. From the Seneca Falls docks, cross the canal on the Bridge St. bridge which is to your west. The restaurant is ahead on the left at the first intersection. The food was basic, but very good and inexpensive.

Today we traveled 27 miles through Erie locks 26 & 25; Cayuga-Seneca locks 1, 2, & 3.
