So far we had made 2 tour stops in the course of cycling only about 3 km (~2 mi). This certainly was a leisurely pace.

However, we had about 38 km yet to go for the day.

Leaving the stork reserve, we had a ~23 km (14 mi) ride, mostly into the wind, to the next planned stop at Kinderdijk. We did take a break along the way for a drink and snack. The ride was windly, but not difficult as the bikes had 24 speeds, and we just had to pick a comfortable gear and keep pedaling.
